I want to dye my lavender purse black...help!?

I want to dye my knit lavender purse black. Any ways to dye it completely black and for it to look like it's the original? Where can I buy the dye and is it just fabric dye? Should I bleach it first? K thanks!!

If it is made out of a natural fabric (i.e. cotton, linen, rayon etc..) then it can be dyed. If it is synthetic (like polyester, acrylic..) then it won't dye evenly. And no, you wouldn't need to bleach it since it won't show through black.

You can dye it with Rit or Dylon dye, available at craft and fabrics stores, and some grocery and drug stores too.
Reply:No, you shouldn't have to bleach it first. You can get Ritz dye at any drug store. Just follow the directions on the package.
Reply:try this
Reply:why? you can buy others that is more easy...
