Growing lavender...?

Any tips on starting to grow lavender on my balcony?

Growing lavender...?
Yes, I have grown lavender in pots. Since you are in S. Florida, you may be able to purchase one at a landscape or garden store. They are perrenials and will do well in your location. Don't overwater them, though.
Reply:Not from seed if you want anything soon bc lavender grows very slowly. You can do clippings from lavender plants that will root (but again, they grow slowly). Lavenders generally love dry soil %26amp; warmth.
Reply:You will probably have a very difficult time growing lavender in your area. I lived in southern North Carolina and lavender was difficult to grow there. I did manage to grow some though. You are in an even more humid area than I was. I would call your local Lowe's or Home Depot and ask them if they can recommend any certain varieties of lavender that might be adapted to your area. They like sandy soil, good drainage, lots of sun, and good air circulation. Be careful not to over water them.

Best of luck to you!
