Pruning lavender?
Lavender in California is hearty......I have tons of it. I've done what you have done in the past and it always seems to come back. Since the weather is getting warmer, make sure you feed and water it well (it thrives in the warmer months).

You can try to propagate new plants by taking some cuttings and using some rooting hormone.

Good luck!!
