Transplanting Lavender?
The best time is in spring and early summer because it is hotter and warmer in spring and summer and if you did this in late autumn your lavender will die because if you move it to another spot the roots will take alot of time to establish about 2-3 months and if it is not established the snow is gonna come and the plant will not be established so therefore it will struggle and die.

Transplanting

The best time to transplant lavender plants is in late spring. During the first summer the plants will need plenty of consistent watering to ensure that they develop deep roots to take them through their first winter.

Reply:I have transplanted mature lavender in the fall with great success. My lavender is blooming right now which is the second time this season. Plants are acting a little strange this year. Cut all dead blooms off the lavender. Determine that the plant is done producing and then transplant in as similar an environment as it came from. When a plant has gone dormant, it can take transplant shock. I divide and transplant many of my perennials at this time of year and have had no problems. I find that if I transplant lavender in late Spring, I get a good plant but no blooms until the following season. When I transplant in Fall, I get full bloom the next season.
