I'm thinking of planting some lavender in my garden. Is it any harm for cats? Would they be indifferent to it, like or dislike the smell?
Thanks
Do cats like lavender?
Hi there,
I think that lavender is safe for cats, I dont seem to see anything about not letting cats go near it etc. but i have provided a link that I use quite often for reasearching plants that are not good for cats and it includes alot of other useful information that you might find handy at some point,

I hope this helped!
Best wishes.

Reply:hi yes cats do like lavender i have it in my garden it is not harm-full to animals they love the scent and so do i .lol sheila
Reply:Not sure if they like lavender but there is a perennial called catmint. It looks somewhat similar to lavender, with little purple flowers. If you are hoping they will like it, plant that instead. If you are trying to keep them away, plant the lavender and also plant catnip.
Reply:Think the only problem would be essential oil - plants aren't a problem - cats like it.
Reply:You can check the packet as to see what it is harmful too, and you can phone your vet for advice just to be sure. I've never heard of it causing a cat to get sick, but it's the best way.
Reply:I,ve got a big lavendar bush in the garden and all my cats ignore it. They go wild for cat mint and roll in it and sunbathe in it.
Reply:yes they love it......will go nuts for it,, just be warned you will have all the stray cats as well, in your yard.
Reply:I dunno,but they like catnip :)
Reply:yea inside catnip
Reply:I'm not sure on that, though I do have a cat and have Lavender and she doesn't seem to do anything when she goes past it, though she loves catnip, commonly named Napeta " six hills giant is the best one" she will eat that and roll in it..... very funny to watch as she gets very excited if you rub your fingers on it and make her sniff it.
Reply:maybe when it get used to the smell
