I think you are asking for a ratio of essential oil to base oil? The 'how' is; add drops of Lavender to the base oil and shake a bit. Viola!
A solution of 3-10% essential oil is fine for a massage blend. A higher % would be used if you are treating a condition. ( ie athletes foot, fever, edema, etc...)
To determine % use this information.
A milliliter is 30 drops. One ounce is 30 mls. That means that one ounce is about 900 drops. 3% of 900 drops is 27 drops (1 ml) 10 % is 90 drops (3 mls).
Lavender oil is very user friendly and you can be flexible with the percentages. Be sure you are not using a stoechas or spike lavender, these oils have a higher ketone content and should be used only with an awareness of ketones and some caution.
Olive oil is fine to use as a base oil for massage.
