How much do roses usually cost?

I don't know if there is a difference in price, but I want to get lavender coloured roses.

How much do roses usually cost?
Nurseries will usually sell roses to you at a high price. I've seen nurseries sell them for about $30-$50. Walmart will sell small roses for about $7.50

Hope this helps!
Reply:You can usually find nice big roses in nurseries for about 30-40 dollars, but if you go to Walmart you can find some carton boxes with a little trunk and some leaves, they cost 3.50 right after winter and they're normally 14 dollars. It may look half ugly/dead but within a really short time they grow into a nice bush. I actually just planted some last week and they have grown beautiful/huge rose. They also come in a myriad of colors; I have pink, purple, yellow, red, white, and orange.
Reply:rose bushes should be in the neighborhood of 9.99 to about 15.99 for a five gallon size. color shouldn't matter a great deal. Lavender is a great color--there are several different shades. Good luck.
Reply:This is a good rule of thumb to remember when you are buying plants of any kind. The younger the plants, the cheaper they are. A three gallon size rose cost about $15-$20.00 at mass merchants. There are so many colors of roses you shouldn't have a problem finding lavender. Wear your rose colored glasses......enjoy.

Reply:the prices sound about right..just make sure you choose a healthy one ..if most the leaves are missing or have black spots on them, do not get it! Although I am a rescuer of roses, for a beginner it would be too much work, to deal with a diseased one. Try checking out Jackson and Perkins

or my favourite David Austin.. both have websites and will send you free catalogues The Old English roses have a higher petal count and are much more disease resistant.

If you have any questions feel free to e mail me. Nana
