How do you plant and take care of lavender flowersand can you tranis plant them?

Lavender likes poor quality soil and good drainage.

The following is an old trick used by gardeners in Victorian times.

To grow more lavender, put an old plant that is usually looking tired and "leggy" (long stems with little foliage)into a pot as wide as the plant is at the top. You must plant it really deep so that just the flowers and an inch of stem are showing at the surface. Water it well and leave outside. After a few months, each stem should have rooted and you can cut each one off from the main plant below the new roots. You will have as many new plants as stems.
