Is it okay to wear a two tone violet/lavender bridal dress on solemnisation in SG?

I'm getting married soon, but lacks of preparation, so simple wedding will do just to take a vow. But of course for me this is the most awating part of life so even if its just simple I want it to be nice. Please advice me about the dress that I have....

Is it okay to wear a two tone violet/lavender bridal dress on solemnisation in SG?
You can wear whatever you want. Ignore the first answer, as they obviously don't realize that outside of Western culture, brides don't commonly wear white. Western brides don't have to wear white either. White is just a popular Western bridal color, but you don't *have* to wear white if you don't want to. Many people don't look good in white gowns, and colored dresses are very popular now.

Americans tend to forget that there are other countries and cultures outside of their own. No offense to Gloria (she means well), but you can tell from the question that this person is *likely* not orginally from a Western/English speaking culture.

From the sounds of your question, I am going to guess that Engligh is not your first language. Do know that Asian brides traditionally wear red, and Indian brides wear beautiful bright colors such as violet, red, yellow, etc. For Asian cultures, white is traditionally a color for funerals.

With all that in mind, aside from cultural customs, a bride in the end can choose to wear whatever she wants.

There are only popular customs for weddings, there are no legal rules for what color a bride should wear. If you want to wear a lavender bridal gown, then that is what you should wear, regardless of your culture. Violet is a very beautiful color. I'm sure you will look gorgeous.

Good luck and enjoy your wedding!
Reply:You should wear what you want but honestly if this is your first wedding, I believe that you should wear white or off white. Good luck.
