I was wondering if Lavender attracts bees and wasps?

I wanted to plant lavender in my garden but I don't want bees swarming all over the place.

I was wondering if Lavender attracts bees and wasps?
No not all flowers attract bees like a previous user mention.

However lavender does. Its a very sweet smelling flower that attracts birds, butterflies and bees to your garden.

If you dont want bees the you should plant flowers that have little to no scent and are pollinated through other means, air, self, crawling insects etc.
Reply:Sorry, you'll have to have bees if you want any flowers.
Reply:feverfew is a flowering plant that bees don't like
Reply:Sorry Sweet, it does attract Bee's and wasp....But it sure does smell good.
Reply:It attracts bees like you wouldn't believe!
Reply:Bees are necessary and pretty much harmless. There is a noticable decline in honey bees in the US and they should be encouraged. Plant your lavender and sit back and watch the bees work. They are hard workers and fun to watch.
Reply:The pollen and nectar in any flower is what attracts bees. If you are going to have a flower garden just know that you will also have bees.
