Lavender flowers and fragrance?

I just bought a bouquet of lavender flowers to give fragrance to my room. It smells good up close but it doesn't actually make my room smell nice at all. I used to have a friend that could get her room to smell like lavender just by putting these flowers in her room, but mine have no effect. Is there a way in making them give off their fragrance??

Definitely different types of lavender give off different scents and strengths of those scents. See below link.

If you want an aunthentic lavender smell and are willing to pat for it, you should buy the essential oil of lavender. Or prodocts that contain lavender eo.

You can also try cleaning with a lavender scented product. Like Mrs. Meyer's All Purpose Cleaner, Lavender.

You can find it online here:

Reply:There are many different types of lavender, some of which are more strongly scented. Sometimes their fragrance is stronger when they are just in bud before they fully flower.

You could try buying dried lavender flowers to put in a vase, or lavender pot-pourri, with a refresher oil to top it up now and then.

Lavender-scented candles are very effective to give a quick fragrance to a room.

Another trick, if you happen to have an open wood-burning fire that you use, is to throw dried lavender on to the dying embers as the fire is burning down, and it will replace the smell of cold ash in your room with lavender.
