What can I use lavender from my garden for, other than potpourri?

You can make lavender lemonade! make your lemonade the regular way (by hand or frozen in a can) and leave out the last portion of water. Boil water, measure out one can full, and place in a bowl with the lavender (you can put it in there loose, but it's a pain to scoop it out after, I would suggest putting it in a sachet bag ) and let the lavender steep in the hot water for 10-15 minutes, then add to the lemonade.

You can make lavender ice cream, sorbet and frosting. You could make a wreath. Lavender sticks are interesting. Check out these links:

Reply:lavender can be used for tea, as flavorings in foods and salads. I have never grown lavender but plan to soon. I love the smell. Lavender is one of the sweetest, most alluring scents to me. I think that for a woman or man, to take some natural lavender for use as a "perfume" would be great. Rosemary too, and mint!
Reply:Antiseptic. It was used widely in the first world war.
Reply:Lavender tea is really good for baths, gives a natural parfum', and is light enough not to irritate allergies. You can either put it in the water, or melt glycerine soap, and re-form the soap with the lavender. Some people also make lavender applesauce. It is steamed with apples, light, flavorful.
Reply:Brush your pillowcases with fresh lavender. You'll never have a better night's sleep.
