Best way to dry lavender that has been 'stripped' from the stalks?

The flowers have been stripped away from the stalks, so I can't dry it the conventional way...any ideas on how to dry it so i can use it for pot pourri??

It would have been easier to do while on the stalks.

On the stalks, tie them together tight from the bottom, then hang them upside down.

Now with them off the stalks, you could try the microwave. Usually for the microwave method, you need a medium that absorbs moisture. Cheap cat litter use to work, but I haven't done this in years, and I think that chemicals are now in cat litter, and therefore could be daugerous to your health. Craft store do sell a drying medium that can be used in the microwave. A food dehydrator would also work. However, you are lucky that it is lavender, because this plant is know to dry out in its natural state as it is, unlike other plants or flowers, like roses.

So with the experience I have had over the years when I was doing a lot of this kind of work, I would heat up the oven, get an old cookie sheet, place it into the oven without the lavender on it, the heat it up to get good and hot. When the sheet is hot, take it out, and then place the lavender on the sheet making sure that it is not piled up, but in a single layer.

If this scares you, then find something, even the cookie tray, and air dry it. It must be in a single layer so it won't mold, and turn it every several days. Do not try to do this in a room with high moisture like a bath or kitchen.

I love lavender, wish I had some fresh to dry, you lucky sole!
Reply:when i'm drying loose flowers or petals i just put them in a large ish bowl and place the bowl on top of the fridge. leave there for 2 or 3 wks and the flowers will be dry and perfect for pot pourri.easy and simple.
Reply:Okay, my method for lavender is really easy. I put the flowers onto a cookie sheet or something flat. and put it in the back seat of my car with the windows rolled up. In the sun inside the car is dry heat. It will dry it out in no time and make the car smell good too. it kills all the bugs that stick to the flowers too.
