Is lavender meant to get rid of headaches?

lavender gives me serious headaches am i the only one that gets them from lavender? or do you get them aswell?

Is lavender meant to get rid of headaches?
I, personally, don't get any headaches from it. It's meant to soothe most people because of "aroma therapy". However, some people just don't like the smell, have allergies, or get headaches, like you. Maybe u should try a different smell to make you relax. Maybe some kind of vanilla, strawberry, etc. etc. will please your senses. ^^

Hope this helps! :D
Reply:Yes, it gives me headaches if I sniff too much of it. I used to sprinkle some on my pillow at night time, but it was just too strong. The French lavender is worse as well.
Reply:lavender does not suit everyone and when it is strong is has an adverse effect.Old English lavender has a gentler effect.
Reply:just a dab should get rid of them but if you're in the uk, i suggest for head, or forehead, 4head or something for headaches, i use it, its great but it makes your eyes water
Reply:No lavender is used to relax but if its to strong it gives he headaches as well, so your not the only one!!!
Reply:i d k; but it does get rid of mosquitoes(:
Reply:too much of the french lavender can give you headaches
Reply:lavender is supposed to be soothing and relaxing. It's possible if you relax enough your headache will go away.
Reply:Yes - Lavender is supposed to soothe aches - it is actually supposed to be a calming herb.

However - like everything in this world - not all things will work for all people! That's why chemical medicines have the list of "possible side effects"!! Just so happens no-one has done one for Lavender!

It DOES work for me as long as I use a really dilute solution of it early on - if I let a headache develop I resort to Panadol!!
Reply:no .but ask yore MD.what to get .
