Keeping lavender over winter?

This year I planted some lavender plants. I was wondering how to best keep them through the Alberta winter, so they will grow again next year.

Keeping lavender over winter?
There are several varieties of lavender, most are winter hardy in your climate. But you can't hurt them to cut them back and mulch them over with a 4-5" covering of hay or leaves.

It sounds like moisture is the big enemy. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!!!!!
Reply:Lavender is awesome and should survive the winter. You may want to think about fencing it in somehow or putting it into pots though as it can get a little out of control.
